Fashion | Summer Essentials - Shorts

Hiiiiii ! :)

I'm back with another Summer Essentials post and this time it's about shorts (if you hadn't guessed after all these pictures ... I let myself go on Tumblr, hehe) I'm in love with all these cute little shorts for summer and especially the lace ones, they are so pretty ! I'll definitely be on the hunt for a pair of those ! For summer I really like to wear skirts and dresses, but shorts are a little bit more comfy so I'm giving them a try this summer. They are also very easy to combine with basic pieces to get that kind of a laid back summer look. (Think : Light wash jeans shorts, cute t-shirt, comfy sweater, loose beachy curls and basic nude make up !) :)
Tomorrow is my last day finals (WOOHOOW *happydance*) and because it's an early exam I made some plans with my chummy to go on a shopping trip in Brussels !! So I might even pick that pair of shorts up tomorrow, hihi ! Oh and I can already predict that this shopping trip will be quite productive so you can expect a haul soon, yay ! ;)

Talk to you soon !

Lifestyle | Movie - Now Is Good

Helloooooo !

Well Friday night I decided to watch a movie, because I earned it after a hard week of finals :) My mom and I opted for 'Now Is Good', an adaption of the novel 'Before I Die' by Jenny Downham. I've been wanting to read the book for a while and I prefer reading a book before watching the movie adaption, but there are so many books on my list and so little time, so I decided to just go ahead.

I can tell you, I've never cried this much when watching a movie and same goes for my mom.We were both sobbing, tissues ready from the beginning of the movie.

The main actors in the movie are Dakota Fanning and Jeremy Irvine, they both did such a great job !
Here below I'll post a summary of the story and the trailer ;) I would love to write a full review on this movie, but English Linguistics is calling me and I do have an exam tomorrow. But if you would like me to do a full review, let me know and in a week when I'm done with finals, I'll do a more in depth review :)

"Tessa has just a few months to live.
Fighting back against hospital visits, endless tests, drugs with excruciating side-effects, Tessa compiles a list. It's her To Do Before I Die list. And number one is sex.

Released from the constraints of 'normal' life, Tessa tastes new experiences to make her feel alive while her failing body struggles to keep up.

Tessa's feelings, her relationships with her father and brother, her estranged mother, her best friend, her new boyfriend, all are painfully crystallized in the precious weeks before Tessa's time finally runs out."

Fashion | Inspiration - Eleanor Calder

Hi there !

I love browsing around the internet to find some fashion inspiration and whenever I discover a person whose style inspires me, I google the life out of them.
Today's post is on Eleanor Calder's style. For those who aren't familiar, Eleanor is Louis Tomlinson's girlfriend (you know, that handsome guy from One Direction ;)) and she has some amazing style going on. I love her very natural make up and what seems like a very comfy style of dressing :)

By the way, how hard is it to find pictures of her without Louis on it?! I love me some One Direction, but guys, come on, I had to search for a loooooooong time to gather a few pictures of her without her celebrity boyfriend ! Haha, well, I did however succeed to gather a few pictures to show you what I'm talking about ;) Louis is on some of them, but the guy has the style groove going on so no complaints.

I actually found out about her awesome sense of fashion when I was watching a make up tutorial by Tanya Burr (I love her, she's amazing !) So there you have it, a nice little make up inspiration to get the same natural glowy look :)

Hope you enjoy it, talk to you soon !

Beauty | Hair - Ombre Inspiration

Well helloooo !

In a few weeks I am going to get my hair ombre-ed (if that's even a verb ;)) and whenever I do something with my hair I have the habit of thinking about it a lot and browsing through the internet to have a clear idea of what I want. I thought it would be nice to share my findings with you :)

So above you can see pictures of the kind of ombre I intent to get and I will probably print them and take them with me, that way my hairdresser knows exactly what I want !
So, basically when you ombre your hair (again, I don't know if this is an actual verb, but maybe we should make it one) you bleach the ends of your hair. The ends of your hair are the most fragile and so when bleaching them, they get really dry and frizzy, so it is important to take good care of your hair after ombre-ing it. One of my absolute favorite vloggers on YouTube, Zoe a.k.a. Zoella280390, has ombre and she actually made a really nice video telling you how she takes care of her ombre-ed hair and that way I kind of have an idea on how to treat my hair once my ombre is done :)

I'll definitely be posting some pictures afterwards and tell you guys what I did/do/will do to take good care of my hair ;)

Fashion | Summer Essentials - The Maxi Skirt

Hi lovelies !

I'm starting a new 'series' called Summer Essentials and I'm really excited for it :) In this series I will be posting my essential beauty and fashion items for summer and maybe even some lifestyle tips.

This first post is about the maxi skirt. Ever since the weather got better here in Belgium, I have been looking around on the internet, looking for a perfect maxi skirt (and I might even get more than just one, haha ;))
Above you can find some pictures of maxi skirts that I really like. I have been eyeing this one by the Dutch webshop Modemusthaves for some time and I might even order it very soon. I'm thinking of pairing it with just a basic white T-Shirt, maybe with something written in black on there, and some (rose) gold accessories.
These skirts just look so pretty and dainty (and comfortable) I can already predict that you'll be seeing me a lot in this the coming months ;)

Beauty | Nails - Essie Turquoise and Caicos

Hi there !

I'm sorry that I've not been posting a lot these days, but my finals started on Monday and I've had a couple of very long and tiring days. Anyways, a couple of weeks ago I bought a new Essie nail polish and I wanted to share the love with you guys :)
This color is called Turquoise and Caicos and obviously it is a turquoise color. I didn't have any brighter colors in my nailpolish collection (I mostly wear pale pink in summer), but a girl can never have too many nailpolishes so I wanted to try a brighter one. This is a pretty safe option if you don't have that much experience with brighter colors (like me), because it's not bright in an 'in your face' kind of way.
In these pictures I applied a base coat (mine is by O.P.I.) and two coats of Turquoise and Caicos. If you want your nails to be the exact color, I suggest to apply three coats, since this will leave you with a more opaque finish than two coats ;)

Fashion | Haul - Twice As Nice

A few weeks ago I discovered some unused coupons in my room and one of them was from Twice As Nice (a Belgian jewellery store) I had to head into the city that weekend anyway and so I decided to pay the store a visit.
My coupon had a value of €50 (It was a gift for my 18th birthday, thanks dad !) and paying €20 extra, I was able to buy two pieces.
I was immediately drawn to the rose gold type of jewels and eventually ended up buying a necklace and a ring, which you can see above :)
I absolutely love them ! I love the rose gold trend and it are very versatile pieces that can be incorporated in a lot of different outfits.

The necklace was €39,95, the ring was €29,95 and you can visit the Twice As Nice site over here !

Beauty | Review - Lush's Ocean Salt Scrub

Well hello there !
In one of my first posts I told you that I had bought Lush's Ocean Salt Scrub and I promised to review it, sooo here I am.

Okay, what does this product promise you to do? This is what Lush has to say about that "Washing with Ocean Salt is like taking your face on a trip to the seaside for an invigorating splash in the water. The minerals in sea salt soften as it scrubs away dirt, dead skin and blockages for a bright, fresh face. We mix in fresh avocado and coconut to hydrate thirsty skin, leaving it balanced and soft. The antibacterial effects of lime and vodka are ideal for blocked pores, blackheads or blemishes and leave skin visibly brightened. It's no wonder Ocean Salt is so enormously popular!"
So basically this
- Get rid of dirt, dead skin and blockages
- Hydrate
- Get rid of blocked pores, blackheads and blemishes
-Birighten up your skin

Well, I loved this product a lot ! It is the first scrub that actually leaves my skin feeling deeply cleaned, a lot softer and very bright. The salt really makes up for a very gentle scrub, though it may feel a bit crunchy, it starts to melt when you're applying it :)
The smell is not what you would typically expect from a scrub, but it is a very fresh and clean scent. Just perfect !
I really noticed a difference after using this scrub. My face feels so much softer and it looks a lot brighter. I got rid of all the blackheads on my nose and although I break out a little bit the day after scrubbing, I got rid of most blemishes.
I would recommend this product, it's a very fresh and clean scrub and does it's job perfectly. Oh and by the way, don't be surprised when your lips taste salty after scrubbing, it is called 'Ocean SALT' (Happened to me, true story ... typical)

Oh, if you're wondering why mine has a French name, I bought it in Brussels and our Lush shop only has the French names ;)

Favorites | May

Hi there !
I love the beginning of a new month ! Not only because I typically change up a few thing, but also because YouTube is filled with 'monthly favorites' videos, maybe even my favorite type of video :) So, I thought it would be nice to do a similar post on here to. Without further ado, here are my May favorites !

Beauty
Mac's Mineralized Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle | I had heard a lot about this highlighter and wanted to see for myself if it was worth the hype. Well, it is ! I absolutely love this one and it has become a part of my daily make up routine. This highlighting powder doesn't only look nice (just look at the beautiful rose gold swipes !) it really gives your face a beautiful healthy glow. I apply this with a little fluffy brush (Because I don't really have a suitable brush YET) right above the apples of my cheeks (the typical highlighting area), on my forehead, my cupid's bow and I draw a little invisible line on my nose (to make it appear a bit thinner)

Garniers's BB creme Miracle Skin Perfecter for combination to oily skin in Light | I have been wanting to try this one for a while, since I have very oily skin and I've never really found a BB creme that didn't make me shine at the end of the day. This one claims to keep you shine-free, so I was excited to try it out. Since I am mentioning this in my favorites, it obvious that I liked it, but I still have a blogpost waiting with a full review on it so you'll hear about my experience soon ;)

Essie's Turquoise & Caicos | This is actually the first ever more 'daring' color nailpolish I've ever bought and I absolutely love it ! Just looking at it makes me happy. It is a really pretty pastel turquoise-green color. Once again, post on this one coming soon !

Bioderma's Sensibio H20 | Once again, I had heard a lot about this make up remover and I was so excited when I was a bottle of it at the drugstore. I went ahead and bought the huge bottle as you can see and I really didn't regret it. Definitely worth the money ! I use this every night to take off my make up and more than any other product I've ever used this one removes make up so easily. I just take a cottonpad, put some of the product on and press it onto my eyelid for about ten seconds before swiping away almost everything I have on there at once. This thing works miracles !

Fructis' Shampoo & Conditioner in Pure Shine | I had heard Ingrid -or Missglamorazzi- rave about the fructis shampoo and since I needed a new one, I decided to try this one out. It is amazing, my hair looks so much better than when I used my previous shampoo by Syoss. It also feels a lot cleaner, especially now that I'm growing out my fringe and using a lot of styling products.

Lush's Ocean Salt Facial Scrub | The only Lush product that I owned was a lip scrub (which I love so much) but I wanted to try something new from Lush and I needed a new facial scrub, et voila Ocean Salt Scrub was added to my collection. There is (once again) still a full review coming up on this one, but I really love it and it has proven to be worth the money.

Fashion
Comfy Clothes | Since I am in the middle of revision and I don't really like spending the day in my pyjamas not wearing make up, I tend to just dress a bit more comfy and use minimal make up on. I've been wearing a lot of leggings, oversized sweaters and t-shirts. The ideal outfit to be at ease while studying :)

Lifestyle
Tumblr | I've been so obsessed with Tumblr these last few weeks, I can lose hours on there ! I actually wrote a blogpost about it and the fact that I only seem to tend towards one (or three) particular color of pictures on there. Read all about it over here.

Lipton Green Tea Intense Mint | I have given up my coffee addiction and changed it for a tea addiction. For the last few weeks I've been ending my days checking the internet, sipping on some tea and watching YouTube videos (it's an addiction). I just have this tea with a bit of honey and it is literally the best tea I've ever had (very easy thing, because I just recently started drinking tea)

I hope you liked this first favorites post :) Talk to you soon !

Lifestyle | It's June !

Hi there ! It's June already ... Oh boy ! Well, I have this habit of changing a few things up at the beginning of each month and I thought it would be nice to share them with you.
What I do is each month I compose a moodboard of pictures I reblogged on Tumblr and make this the background of my laptop. This way, every time I see my background I'm feeling inspired by all the pictures :) The second thing I do is changing the inspirational quote on my bathroom mirror. I love to have a quote on there that inspires me, because I kinda spend a lot of time in front of that mirror ;) So every time I'm in front of it I will read this and it will lift me up or get me going, whatever it needs to do !

This month my moodboard consists of mostly white - beige - cream pictures, because as you know from my previous post ... I've got quite an addiction going on !

My inspirational quote for this month is one from the Breakfast Club, I haven't seen this movie, but I found this quote on Tumblr and it really relates to me. I am the type of person who will consider other people more than myself, but I also need a lot of confirmation. I care a lot about what other people think of me and sometimes I need to realise that I don't have to please/impress everyone.

Talk to you soon !
