Hi there !

I'm Kelly, currently 20 years old and an applied linguistics student at uni. I would describe myself as an undisturbed dreamer and fashion & beauty enthusiast ;)

Ever since I can remember I have been into writing. When I was little I used to have a bright pink diary that I wrote in every single day, not neglecting even one. Back then I used to just summarize my day and draw something next to it related to the events of that day, old school blogging basically ;) After having written numerous of diaries full of thoughts, stories, poems, etc. I got into blogging. I have had quite a few blogs, but being the perfectionist that I am, I deleted each and every single one of them, because I didn't really like/enjoyed them anymore. So I stopped blogging for a while, but missed it so much that I'm now back with Kuhisi and I'm pretty sure that this one is the right and final one. 

For a few years I have been nearly addicted to watching YouTube videos and reading beauty-fashion-lifestyle related blogs. So one day, after watching one too many YouTube videos, I realized that I actually missed blogging and that I had this little thought of starting a beauty related blog. I knew that I wanted this one to be thé blog, the one that has come to stay and so I put a lot of thought and effort in it. I pondered for a long time over the name and design (and it is still a work in progress!) 

So why is it called Kuhisi, you ask? Kuhisi is Swahili for 'sense, perceive, feel'. I was looking for just one particular word to name this blog. It had to be a beautiful sounding word and something special. So I kept on searching and searching, in every possible language (because I am a linguistics student and craz-ay about words and languages) and came up with this one. I thought that 'Kuhisi' fitted quite nicely. This is the place where I will write down how I feel about products, trends, ..., what I perceive when I test them; so that is why I typed 'sense' in Google Translate and came up with this and I like it a lot :)

My aim for this blog is to be to people what those other blogs and YouTube channels are to me; a way to share thoughts on beauty and fashion, to discover new things and just a nice pastime.
