Beauty | Review - Lush's Ocean Salt Scrub

Well hello there !
In one of my first posts I told you that I had bought Lush's Ocean Salt Scrub and I promised to review it, sooo here I am.

Okay, what does this product promise you to do? This is what Lush has to say about that "Washing with Ocean Salt is like taking your face on a trip to the seaside for an invigorating splash in the water. The minerals in sea salt soften as it scrubs away dirt, dead skin and blockages for a bright, fresh face. We mix in fresh avocado and coconut to hydrate thirsty skin, leaving it balanced and soft. The antibacterial effects of lime and vodka are ideal for blocked pores, blackheads or blemishes and leave skin visibly brightened. It's no wonder Ocean Salt is so enormously popular!"
So basically this
- Get rid of dirt, dead skin and blockages
- Hydrate
- Get rid of blocked pores, blackheads and blemishes
-Birighten up your skin

Well, I loved this product a lot ! It is the first scrub that actually leaves my skin feeling deeply cleaned, a lot softer and very bright. The salt really makes up for a very gentle scrub, though it may feel a bit crunchy, it starts to melt when you're applying it :)
The smell is not what you would typically expect from a scrub, but it is a very fresh and clean scent. Just perfect !
I really noticed a difference after using this scrub. My face feels so much softer and it looks a lot brighter. I got rid of all the blackheads on my nose and although I break out a little bit the day after scrubbing, I got rid of most blemishes.
I would recommend this product, it's a very fresh and clean scrub and does it's job perfectly. Oh and by the way, don't be surprised when your lips taste salty after scrubbing, it is called 'Ocean SALT' (Happened to me, true story ... typical)

Oh, if you're wondering why mine has a French name, I bought it in Brussels and our Lush shop only has the French names ;)

Favorites | May

Hi there !
I love the beginning of a new month ! Not only because I typically change up a few thing, but also because YouTube is filled with 'monthly favorites' videos, maybe even my favorite type of video :) So, I thought it would be nice to do a similar post on here to. Without further ado, here are my May favorites !

Beauty
Mac's Mineralized Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle | I had heard a lot about this highlighter and wanted to see for myself if it was worth the hype. Well, it is ! I absolutely love this one and it has become a part of my daily make up routine. This highlighting powder doesn't only look nice (just look at the beautiful rose gold swipes !) it really gives your face a beautiful healthy glow. I apply this with a little fluffy brush (Because I don't really have a suitable brush YET) right above the apples of my cheeks (the typical highlighting area), on my forehead, my cupid's bow and I draw a little invisible line on my nose (to make it appear a bit thinner)

Garniers's BB creme Miracle Skin Perfecter for combination to oily skin in Light | I have been wanting to try this one for a while, since I have very oily skin and I've never really found a BB creme that didn't make me shine at the end of the day. This one claims to keep you shine-free, so I was excited to try it out. Since I am mentioning this in my favorites, it obvious that I liked it, but I still have a blogpost waiting with a full review on it so you'll hear about my experience soon ;)

Essie's Turquoise & Caicos | This is actually the first ever more 'daring' color nailpolish I've ever bought and I absolutely love it ! Just looking at it makes me happy. It is a really pretty pastel turquoise-green color. Once again, post on this one coming soon !

Bioderma's Sensibio H20 | Once again, I had heard a lot about this make up remover and I was so excited when I was a bottle of it at the drugstore. I went ahead and bought the huge bottle as you can see and I really didn't regret it. Definitely worth the money ! I use this every night to take off my make up and more than any other product I've ever used this one removes make up so easily. I just take a cottonpad, put some of the product on and press it onto my eyelid for about ten seconds before swiping away almost everything I have on there at once. This thing works miracles !

Fructis' Shampoo & Conditioner in Pure Shine | I had heard Ingrid -or Missglamorazzi- rave about the fructis shampoo and since I needed a new one, I decided to try this one out. It is amazing, my hair looks so much better than when I used my previous shampoo by Syoss. It also feels a lot cleaner, especially now that I'm growing out my fringe and using a lot of styling products.

Lush's Ocean Salt Facial Scrub | The only Lush product that I owned was a lip scrub (which I love so much) but I wanted to try something new from Lush and I needed a new facial scrub, et voila Ocean Salt Scrub was added to my collection. There is (once again) still a full review coming up on this one, but I really love it and it has proven to be worth the money.

Fashion
Comfy Clothes | Since I am in the middle of revision and I don't really like spending the day in my pyjamas not wearing make up, I tend to just dress a bit more comfy and use minimal make up on. I've been wearing a lot of leggings, oversized sweaters and t-shirts. The ideal outfit to be at ease while studying :)

Lifestyle
Tumblr | I've been so obsessed with Tumblr these last few weeks, I can lose hours on there ! I actually wrote a blogpost about it and the fact that I only seem to tend towards one (or three) particular color of pictures on there. Read all about it over here.

Lipton Green Tea Intense Mint | I have given up my coffee addiction and changed it for a tea addiction. For the last few weeks I've been ending my days checking the internet, sipping on some tea and watching YouTube videos (it's an addiction). I just have this tea with a bit of honey and it is literally the best tea I've ever had (very easy thing, because I just recently started drinking tea)

I hope you liked this first favorites post :) Talk to you soon !

Beauty | Haul - The Body Shop & Lush

On Monday classes started again for me and being in back in the city, I couldn't resist paying a short visit to the Body Shop & Lush.
I absolutely love the scrubs and body butters from the Body Shop and it was time for me to try out a new scent, so I decided to go with the Vineyard Peach scent for both the scrub & the body butter. I like to have the scrub & body butter in the same scent, because otherwise it misses quite the effect if you just start mixing all these scents. I also bought a hand & nail cream in the almond scent. I love this hand cream it is so very moisturising & it just smells amazing. I usually buy the small tubes of hand cream at the Body Shop, but since they only had the big one and I already knew that I would love the cream, I went with the big one. I've tried the rose scented one before, but it didn't quite do the job for me ... My hands didn't get enough moisture out of it & for me, the scent was too overpowering.
I don't have much experience buying stuff at Lush, I really like their lip scrub, but that is in fact all I've ever tried before. I knew I wanted to get a face scrub, so I stumbled upon this one called Ocean Salt. This is what the description mentions : "When you think of a sea spray on your face, you can imagine the cleaning salt - but without you feeling dried out and tight, like the sea is prone doing. We have taking lashings of fine sea salt to scrub and clean and mixed it with lots of great things that will moisturise and treat the skin." (Source)
I'm really excited to give these a try and I'll let you know how it works out !
