Lifestyle | Music - London Grammar

Today I wanted to share some musical inspiration with you guys ! 

I've been listening to this band called London Grammar quite a lot the past week and love their latest album 'If You Wait' to pieces. However, not a lot of people seem to know about them while they're soooo good ! They definitely deserve a lot more attention.

The thing I like about their music is the whole vibe it transfers. There's something of a cold and chilly atmosphere to their music, get what I am saying ?, it makes me think of cold winter days, those greyish ones when you can't seem to get warm in any possible way. That's the vibe I get and I really like it.

True, there's also an atmosphere of sadness to their work, but from time to time we all need our emo-moments, don't we? 

Being the linguistics-nerd that I obviously am, I also really like their lyrics. Powerful words in beautiful combinations, whimsical melodies and a fragile voice; that's how I would describe London Grammar.

I am really liking the song 'Wasting My Young Years' and surprise surprise, I feel like I can relate to the song. I have this thing where I wonder all the time if I am getting the maximum out of my time/life. I live in constant 'fear' of missing out on opportunities and walking past important paths on my journey. To me, 'Wasting My Young Years' is about this feeling. Am I wasting them?

Lifestyle | Update

Hi !

My lil' blog has been suffering quite a lot under the heavy weight of schoolwork and I thought it was about time to type up a proper update for you guys :)

So during summer I had this amazing schedule set up for Kuhisi, three posts a week, nicely spread and all that jazz. I was hoping to continue this schedule when uni kicked back in, but I never really came around to following it properly.

Because I am kind of a perfectionist and chose quality over quantity, there hasn't been a lot of content on here lately. I prefer posting one good post per week, than three absolutely shitty ones.

These last few months I have had a lot on my mind. Not all bad, not all good. I have my studies to think about, I have a job over the weekend, I do like to go out once in a while, I love babysitting my goddaughter, ... 

So I've decided to get rid of the schedule. I found myself feeling guilty over the fact that I couldn't live up to the schedule I had set up myself and dreading writing a next post in the middle of the night after I finished my schoolwork, that's not the way I want to look at my blog :)

From now on there won't be fixed days for posts, all will depend on my personal preference and inspiration at the moment. Back to the basics of blogging ! I hope you guys can understand that blogging isn't my fulltime job and my studies kind of are slightly more important right now ;)

Lifestyle | It's November

New month, new spirit, new inspiration :)

The moodboard for November doesn't really have a theme. I basically threw some pictures together that created that perfect vibe for me. So yes, a very 'organic' moodboard in the sense of "I put a bunch of pictures together that reflect my current 'mood' perfectly" ;)

The quote for this month is this gorgeous French quote from the book Le Petit Prince :) I study French and English, two languages that really inspire and intrigue me. That's why I'm often writing in these languages, aside my own language, which is Dutch. For those of you who are not very acquainted with French, this quote basically says "We only really see with the heart. For the essential is invisible to the eyes." This is literally one of the most beautiful quotes I've ever stumbled upon and I had to share it :) So yeah, something to think about during the month of November !

P.S. : My poor lil blog has been suffering while I was concentrating on schoolwork. It have been a very busy few weeks and I'm glad to finally be able to sit down and type away like I normally would :) I'm however thinking about setting myself free from the schedule and posting whatever comes to my mind, whenever I like. I'm still figuring that out, because obviously the schedule hasn't really worked these last few weeks/months. I choose quality over quantity, so that's why I have been posting less frequently. I only want to post when I feel inspired and have the time to type up a proper post, so yes still looking for a solution on that front ! I'll howeverr keep you posted on all of this ;) I love you all !

Fashion | Femmes Fatales

On Monday I was feeling so poorly, I think I had a small case of the stomach flu, and when I feel poor there's only one thing I want to do : Watching Breakfast At Tiffany's, my favourite movie of all time. And whilst I was enjoying some quality time in bed, I got the idea to start a new section on here introducing the Femmes Fatales that inspire me in terms of fashion and beauty.

This first post is just to introduce you guys to the idea behind it and how I will tackle each femme.

So basically every post will be written around one particular inspirational woman. First of all I'll introduce her to you guys, give some information. Second, I'll talk about her style and influence in terms of fashion. And third, I'll tackle her signature make up look :)

I'll leave it at this ! I hope you guys are as excited as me about this new section, because oh boy I am ^^

But now, I really have to go to bed, seriously I need to get up at 7 a.m. !
