Lifestyle | Music - March Mixtape

I have missed quite a few lifestyle posts this month and I thought it would be nice to have kind of a lifestyle themed week because of that.
First post of the week concerns music, since it has been quite a while since I shared some music love with you guys. So today I present you my March Mixtape :

1. Rather Be - Clean Bandit (REPEAT ALERT)
2. Heart on Fire - Clean Bandit
3. Stolen Dance - Milky Chance
4. Vandalism - Porter Robinson
5. Miss U Always - Snakehips
6. Wanderlust (Snakehips remix) - The Weeknd
7. It's too Late (Snakehips remix) - Wild Belle
8. Gold (Snakehips remix) - Bondax
9. So Good to Me - Chris Malinchak
10. Waiting All Night - Rudimental

I've been listening to a lot of summer-vibey-music this month, because the weather has been super nice and I am desperately longing for summer. Some new ones, some oldies, but very summery. You can listen to the whole list over here ;)
Enjoy !

Love,
K.

Lifestyle | Music - London Grammar

Today I wanted to share some musical inspiration with you guys !
I've been listening to this band called London Grammar quite a lot the past week and love their latest album 'If You Wait' to pieces. However, not a lot of people seem to know about them while they're soooo good ! They definitely deserve a lot more attention.
The thing I like about their music is the whole vibe it transfers. There's something of a cold and chilly atmosphere to their music, get what I am saying ?, it makes me think of cold winter days, those greyish ones when you can't seem to get warm in any possible way. That's the vibe I get and I really like it.
True, there's also an atmosphere of sadness to their work, but from time to time we all need our emo-moments, don't we?
Being the linguistics-nerd that I obviously am, I also really like their lyrics. Powerful words in beautiful combinations, whimsical melodies and a fragile voice; that's how I would describe London Grammar.
I am really liking the song 'Wasting My Young Years' and surprise surprise, I feel like I can relate to the song. I have this thing where I wonder all the time if I am getting the maximum out of my time/life. I live in constant 'fear' of missing out on opportunities and walking past important paths on my journey. To me, 'Wasting My Young Years' is about this feeling. Am I wasting them?
Don't you know that it's only fear
And I wouldn't worry, you have all your life
I've heard it takes some time to get it right

Love,
Kelly

Lifestyle | Music - Sleep by I Will, I Swear

"whenever you're down and out
and your heart's filled with doubt
i will guide you through"

Being a huge music person, I thought I'd start sharing some of my music inspiration with you guys :) I don't have a fixed taste in music, I like all sorts of music; my iTunes is probably the strangest combination of music genres haha ! I would say that my main tastes in alternative music are indie, easy listening and electronic music. Besides those genres I like to listen to the occasional poppy song once in a while, but my love for alternative and not so well known music is a bit bigger.

Today I discovered this gorgeous song by the Belgian band I Will, I Swear and I fell in love with the sound of it. Do you guys have that sometimes? Just loving how a song sounds? And when I listened to the words of it, it all came together, I love this song so much !
Also, the clip made for this song is simply stunning, it seriously made my all emotional and near to crying (oh yes, being a girly girl !)

Give it a listen and tell me what you think ;)

Love,
Kelly

Lifestyle | The Werchter Report

Vampire Weekend

Hi there !

I just got back from Rock Werchter (A Belgian music festival and one of the biggest in Europe) and thought it would be nice to share my experience with you. So here I am !
So on Thursday morning we headed down to Werchter and set up our tents. We had the most amazing spot because it was only a 5 minute walk from the festival ground to our tent and we set it up underneath some trees so we had a lot of shade.

We saw a lot of amazing bands and every day had at least one highlight for me :)

On Thursday we saw Vampire Weekend, The National, Bloc Party, Green Day, Sigur Rós and Netsky. My absolute highlight of that day and probably of the whole festival was Sigur Rós. It is one of my favourite bands and I have been wanting to see them for a while and they didn't fail to please. I was crying actual tears of joy, it was that good.

Phoenix
On Friday we saw Two Door Cinema Club, The Lumineers, The Script, Phoenix, Kings of Leon and Ben Howard. Even though the Script blew my mind, because I didn't think I would love their performance that much, the highlight of my day was definitely Ben Howard. Once again Ben Howard is one of my favourite artists and I was so happy that I was finally able to see him perform. We didn't manage to get in front but we just chilled in the back and it was so good !

Disclosure

James Blake
On Saturday we saw SX, Disclosure, Rudimental, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, James Blake and Goose.
I am a huge Disclosure fan and so I wanted to be in front at that concert no matter what, lucky me the concert before them SX was amazing and so I was almost completely in front during their performance. Saturday was such a hot day and we were soaked in sweat after Disclosure's performance, haha :p The other highlight of my day was James Blake, we were seated in front of the big screen and we just chilled during the concert, it was perfect !

Sunday was a very hot and busy day, plus we were so sad that this was already our last day :( We saw Youth Lagoon, Bastille, Tom Odell, Alt-J, Band of Horses, Of Monsters and Men, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Depeche Mode, Modestep and Editors. ALT-J was definitely my highlight, the atmosphere during the performance was crazy, people were singing along, chilling, dancing, ... Just perfect ! Plus this is great festival music.
We had an amazing four days, nothing went wrong, we have seen amazing performances, we had a great time, the camping went smoothly and the weather was perfect. I honestly didn't think that I would like it that much, but I even liked the camping (and I'm not a camping-person at all) Werchter is almost a separate universe during the festival, for four days thousands of people head down there to enjoy some music and share the love for it, how beautiful is that?
