Fashion | Femmes Fatales

On Monday I was feeling so poorly, I think I had a small case of the stomach flu, and when I feel poor there's only one thing I want to do : Watching Breakfast At Tiffany's, my favourite movie of all time. And whilst I was enjoying some quality time in bed, I got the idea to start a new section on here introducing the Femmes Fatales that inspire me in terms of fashion and beauty.

This first post is just to introduce you guys to the idea behind it and how I will tackle each femme.
So basically every post will be written around one particular inspirational woman. First of all I'll introduce her to you guys, give some information. Second, I'll talk about her style and influence in terms of fashion. And third, I'll tackle her signature make up look :)

I'll leave it at this ! I hope you guys are as excited as me about this new section, because oh boy I am ^^
But now, I really have to go to bed, seriously I need to get up at 7 a.m. !

Love,
Kelly

Lifestyle | Travel - Barcelona Pt. 1

It's time to share my vacation pics with you guys ! :)
As you all know, I went to Barcelona in September and loved every second of the trip, it was that good !
I took a lot of pictures, but I also filmed a lot in the intention of making a nice little vlog out of it. I am however struggling with the vlog, because I didn't really think about copyright music-wise, so it's kinda difficult to find a good soundtrack that I am allowed to use without having to pay :/
So for now, I am just sharing the pictures. Here we go !

My favourite neighbourhood in Barcelona was by far El Born ! There's such a nice vibe of creativity and chill-ness. You can find lots of beautiful shops and nice (and not so pricey) restaurants in El Born. We actually came back here every night for dinner and (almost) always had a nice meal for a low price ;)

In the picture above and below you can see the archaeological site of El Born.  I don't really know if this is a very well-known site, because we just happened to stumble upon it. Those were the finds that made this trips so much fun actually ! "Maybe we should go in there?" "Okay, why not?" "Well look at that, it's an archaeological site !"

On one of the more dreary days during our stay, we decided to visit the Museum of Contemporary art or MACBA. It was absolutely stunning ! I'm not really a huge fan of contemporary art, but I really liked the atmosphere in the building and appreciated quite a number of artworks.

I really liked the architecture at MACBA, so simplistic yet complicated. (Just me trying to be artsy ... ;))

Look at those gorgeous hallways ! The building just breathes art ...

I really loved the photography pieces, very intriguing. We also saw a snippet of a movie based on the life of a woman who had 'no identity' for more than ten years, it surely was a captivating story !

I also really liked the typography on the wall of the main hallway, which I think functioned as a kind of definition of contemporary art (second picture here below)

On the same dreary day we decided to visit the aquarium of Barcelona ! This aquarium is said to be one of the most beautiful aquariums in Europe and whilst it was a cool aquarium, I didn't really think it was worth the €20 entrance ticket... Nonetheless, we had a blast spotting strange fish and making up Finding Nemo jokes.

On about the third day we started a little Gaudi inspired discovery of Barcelona and of course we started with the Sagrada Familia. This really is such a gorgeous and inspiring place ! I'm not that religious, but churches always leave quite an impression on me and this one left quite the impression ...

The outside of the Sagrada Familia is very detailed and we actually spend quite some time spotting everything told by the sculptures. We didn't really have a guided visit, because we were just a few minutes too late to join the previous group and hours early to join the next one, but I think it's best to actually take a guided tour (but check timing in advance) or opt for an audioguide, because there is just so much to look at and it would make up for a much more structured visit. Also make sure you visit this first thing in the morning or after lunch, because the line before entering is most of the time really long and the visit itself takes up quite some time. And believe me, you don't want to be hungry when wandering around this treasure of architecture and art.

I absolutely loved how perfectly planned every detail of the Sagrada Familia is ! Gaudi thought it all through to the tiniest little detail and this is what makes the church so magnificent. Just look at those tree-like pillars that make the inside of the church look like an actual forest !

We actually joked about going back on this same trip in 13 years possibly with futur boyfriend/husband and kids (oh yes we did) to be able to see the finished Sagrada Familia :p

Okay, this was part one of my trip to Barcelona ! Part two will be up on Friday, so stay tuned ;)

Fashion | Inspiration - Cosy Knit Sweaters

One thing I sure love about Fall/Winter are the cosy sweaters ! I already mentioned my love for sweaters, I know, but see this as my Fall/Winter edition of the sweater post ;)

Layering is my favourite part about these seasons and sweaters/cardigans are ideal for this. My 'style' is all about being cosy and comfortable, rather than all dolled up and not at ease. I'm not going to repeat myself but, sweaters are the perfect piece to either dress up or down. But for more on that, I refer you to my last sweater related post.

Beauty | Winter Skincare - Morning Routine

With winter just around the corner, it's time to give your skin a little bit more love. So today, I am sharing my morning skincare routine with y'all. Before I start I just want to mention that I have combination to oily skin that is extremely sensitive and acne prone (Just so you know if this routine would work for you too)

I always start my mornings with a nice and refreshing shower and always take this La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel with me. In fact almost all of my skincare products are from the Effaclar range by La Roche-Posay, because I like it so much ! It is a little bit on the pricey side, but it is definitely worth the splurge if you want clear and healthy skin.

When I hop out of the shower it's time for another round of cleaning. To remove all of the oil, remnants of make up, ... I use the Miccelaire Sollution by La Roche-Posay on a large exfoliating cotton pad (as seen below).

I always use exfoliating cotton pads because I feel like they get rid of everything much better than normal cotton pads and leave your skin super clean.

Then I follow up with a bit of La Roche-Posay Effaclar Micro-exfoliating Lotion once again on an exfoliating cotton pad. This will make sure your skin is squeaky clean before hitting the moisturiser.

Next step is treating my eyes to a bit of moisture. I am currently using the Olaz Total Effects 7, but I can't really tell if I like it or not. Lack of sleep made my eyes really stingy, so I needed something to calm them down. I did catch up on sleep ánd bought this cream, so I don't quite know which one did the better job...

And the last step is moisturiser, I am currently using the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat Sebo-regulating moisturiser. This one helps me keeping my face shine free and minimises my pores at least a little bit.

I am really loving this routine and notice a huge difference with my last routine. My face calmed down, looks healthy and feels super soft.

If you want me to do a detailed review on one of these products, comment down below, and don't be afraid to ask any questions, I'd be happy to help !

Kelly
